Oldham Greenhill CSC – A Brief History

Oldham Greenhill Community Sports Club was established in 2004 by Abid Hussain and Osman Tosum.

Having attracted over one hundred children in their first coaching session, it was then made apparent that a local football club had to be created to offer these children a chance to play. Through much delegation the young people came up with the name of Greenhill Football Club, as it represented all areas within the Oldham borough. After six months of coaching, the staff decided it was time to select a squad of players to play in the Tameside league.

A year later two more teams were created to play in the league. In 2009, through members and young players consultation, the club decided to change its name to Oldham Greenhill Community Sports Club, so it could provide more than just football.
